If a tooth comes out completely from the socket (this is called Tooth Avulsion), it is a dental emergency. Acting quickly can sometimes save the tooth. 🦷
Immediate steps to follow
Pick up the tooth carefully
Hold it by the crown (the white chewing part).
Do NOT touch the root.
If dirty, rinse gently
Use clean water or saline for a few seconds.
Do not scrub or use soap.
Try to place it back in the socket (if possible)
Gently push the tooth back into its original position.
Bite down softly on a clean cloth or gauze to hold it in place.
If you cannot put it back
Keep the tooth moist:
Put it in cold milk (best option)
Or saline solution
Or place it inside your cheek (only if the person is conscious and not a choking risk)
